2023 Lexus NX SUV recalled in Australia

Lexus Australia has recalled 1277 examples of its 2023 Lexus NX SUV, spanning NX350 F Sport, NX350h F Sport, NX350h Sports Luxury, and NX450h+ F Sport models, citing a potential fault with the cars' high beam lights.

The affected vehicles are stamped 2023 models but may have been sold at a later date.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a programming issue, the Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) LED units (high beam) and AHS ECUs (Electronic Control Unit) may incorrectly detect the signals for switching from low beam to high beam.

“If this occurs, a warning message will display and render the high beam inoperative. A non-operational high beam may increase the risk of an accident, resulting in injury to occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

“Vehicles are not compliant with ADR 13/00 – Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles.”

A full list of vehicle identification numbers for the 1277 vehicles involved in the recall can be found here.

Lexus Australia said affected owners will be contacted in writing advising them to schedule an appointment at their preferred authorised dealership to have the fault fixed, free of charge.

Owners can contact the Lexus Customer Assistance Centre on 1800 023 009 or send an email to [email protected].
