2025 Mitsubishi Outlander price and specs: Updated family SUV is more expensive

The updated 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander is due in Australian showrooms this June with price rises of up to $2950 to accompany new features and styling.

The facelifted Outlander introduces tweaked styling, changes to interior ergonomics, new technology, and the promise of a quieter, more comfortable and sharper driving experience.

Petrol-only versions of the 2025 Outlander have been announced first, priced from $39,990 plus on-road costs for the entry-level ES grade, ahead of the plug-in hybrid at a later date.

RRPs have increased by between $2050 and $2950, the line-up slimmed to delete the Black Edition grade – and the top-of-the-range Exceed and Exceed Tourer now five-seaters, rather than seven-seaters.

Drive-away prices for the revised line-up are yet to be published, at the time of writing.

Exterior changes are subtle, with revisions to the lower front and rear bumpers, a new front grille insert, clear but 'smoked' LED tail-light lenses, and new wheel designs, measuring 18 inches on the ES and LS and 20 inches on other models.

There are also LED rear indicators and reverse lights for the first time, while a new Moonstone Grey prestige colour has been added to high-grade models.

Inside, the infotainment touchscreen has been enlarged to 12.3 inches, up from 8.0 inches in base models, and 9.0 inches in more expensive versions.

Android Auto now wireless, rather than wired-only – joining wireless Apple CarPlay from outgoing high-grade models – with satellite navigation standard across the range.

A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is now standard across the range.

Interior design changes include a revised centre console with easier-to-reach cupholders and 45 per cent more under-armrest storage, and an "improved" wireless charging pad claimed to fit larger phones.

Front-seat ventilation is now available for the first time, interior lights are now touch-sensitive LED controls, there are "higher-quality" interior trims, and the rear seats have gained new padding for improved support, plus a lengthened seatback.

Exceed Tourer variants are fitted with a 12-speaker, 1650-watt Yamaha Ultimate sound system – inclusive of a subwoofer and dual amplifiers – while cheaper variants use an eight-speaker Yamaha Premium stereo.

The 2025 Outlander is the first Mitsubishi with connected services, known as Mitsubishi Connect.

It focuses on a smartphone app allowing owners to control the locks, light and horn remotely, pre-heat or cool the cabin, track the vehicle's location, send navigation routes to the car, and set location, speed and curfew alerts for teen drivers.

There is also an SOS emergency call function, and an automatic collision notification.

Under the skin, Mitsubishi says there is retuned electric power steering for "improved on-centre feel and a more linear response when turning," recalibrated shock absorbers, a thinner front anti-roll bar, and new Bridgestone tyres.

Changes to how the Outlander drives were developed in collaboration between Mitsubishi Australia and Japan – on roads here and in Japan – and subsequently adopted by global markets.

The company also claims reduced noise, through a new isolator for the transmission tunnel, steel now used for the bonnet, and further tweaks.

Unchanged is the 2.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, which continues to send 135kW and 244Nm through a continuously-variable automatic transmission.

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander is due in Australian showrooms in petrol-only form next month.
