The all-new 2025 Skoda Superb has arrived in Australia with just a single highly-specified Sportline variant, available as either a sedan or station wagon.
Priced from $67,990 for the sedan or $$69,690 for the wagon, before on-road costs, the new Superb sedan is $2400 more expensive than the model it replaces. However, the new model is fitted with around $10,900 of extra specification and standard equipment representing "$8500 extra customer value", according to Skoda.
The fourth-generation Skoda Superb, built on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform, is powered by slightly higher-tuned 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine as found in the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
Power is the same across the two models at 195kW but at 400Nm, the Superb has more torque than the GTI hot hatch (370Nm).
The outgoing generation Superb's 2.0-litre unit boasted outputs of 206kW and 350Nm for a 0-100km/h claim of 5.9 seconds for the sedan and 6.0 seconds for the station wagon.
Despite giving away 11kW in power to the older model, the 50Nm torque gain sees the new Skoda Superb's 0-100km/h claim improve to 5.6s (sedan and 5.7s (wagon). This also trumps the latest Mk8.5 Golf GTI's 5.9s claim.
Claimed fuel economy has also improved, now rated at 7.7L/100km for the sedan (7.8L wagon) against the outgoing models claims of 8.0L/8.1L.
A new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends those outputs to Skoda's all-wheel drive system. The previous model was fitted with a six-speed dual-clutch.
Both the sedan and station wagon come highly-specified with leather-appointed upholstery, 19-inch alloy wheels in a new design, an upgraded 13-inch (up from 9 inches) infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated and ventilated front seats with massage function, a 360-degree surround view camera, and tri-zone climate controls.
The 2025 Skoda Superb is in showrooms now.
