Stellantis, the parent company of brands like Chrysler, Jeep, Ram and European brands including Peugeot, Fiat, and Opel, is set to revive the high-performance brand that oversaw the development of some of the hottest products from the American brands.

The Street and Racing Technology brand, better known as SRT, stood as the top-tier for performance products throughout the DaimlerChrysler, Chrysler Group, and Fiat Chrysler ownership chapters.

With the merger of Fiat Chrysler and the PSA Group in 2014, SRT moved from a marque of its own to a division within in the Dodge brand, before finally winding up in 2023 as a version of the Dodge Durango SUV.

Now, with a new CEO as of June 2025, and a variety of new or revised product strategies on the horizon, Stellantis has announced that the SRT performance division will return.

In a post on Dodge’s Instagram, the band confirms the return and shows that SRT will be responsible for performance products from Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Chrysler.

Ram’s current CEO, Tim Kuniskis, is set to head up the SRT department, which will oversee the development of both street cars and motorsport activities for the American brands, including NASCAR and NHRA participation.

Kuniskis will remain CEO of Ram alongside SRT, and will report to Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa. The leadership of other American Stellatis brands remains unchanged.

Despite other Stellantis brands having their own performance models, like Peugeot’s GTi models and Opel’s OPC division, there’s no mention of any European cooperation as part of the SRT revival.

“We’re getting the band back together,” Kuniskis said, in a media release.

“SRT is another box we needed to check as we head into a product launch cadence enabling more performance than we’ve ever seen before.

“We’re working with our product development and technology organisation to select the best engineers in powertrain and vehicle dynamics to build a team worthy of the SRT name.”

The revival announcement stops short of outlining any product plans for the SRT line-up, but with the return of V8 power to the Ram 1500 range after a brief hiatus, and the V8-heavy focus of SRT’s motorsports activity, it seems highly likely the SRT could align itself with V8 engines as it did before the division was wrapped up.

SRT’s past also includes four-cylinder, V6, and V10 performance however, and within the wider Stellantis portfolio high performance four- and six-cylinder engines could be potentially used as the basis for a wider range of vehicles if needed.

Full timing for the relaunched SRT brand and its retail products has yet to be announced.
