Top 10 most-searched cars for sale on Drive Marketplace in 2025

With 2025 drawing to a close, it's time to take a look back at the year that was on Drive across our news, reviews, advice, social media and Marketplace content.

In this edition, we’ve compiled a list of the most-searched cars for sale on our Drive Marketplace classifieds service in 2025.

Our most-searched car for sale on Drive Marketplace was the Toyota RAV4, while the Ford Mustang V8 sports car made a surprise appearance among a field of SUVs, utes and small cars.

The list below shows the Top 10 car models listed on Drive Marketplace with the highest search volume between January and December 2025.

The Mazda CX-5 is one of Australia's most-popular cars among private owners, not ABN holders or government fleets.

As such, it was one of the most-searched cars on Drive Marketplace in 2025, with a range of CX-5 models across many years available to buy, including turbocharged petrol and diesel engine options.

The Isuzu MU-X large SUV offers seven seats, and four-wheel-drive capability, allowing it to be a versatile family car while also giving owners the ability to go off-road or tow decent loads.

Interestingly, the MU-X is ahead of the Toyota LandCruiser Prado and Ford Everest on the list of most-searched vehicles on Drive Marketplace in 2025.

Popular with rideshare and taxi drivers, as well as fleets, the Toyota Camry hybrid sedan offers frugal motoring with sizeable luggage space.

A range of late-model Toyota Camrys are listed on Drive Marketplace, likely including a number of ex-fleet examples replaced by newer models, for buyers who'd like a reasonably new hybrid sedan, but don't need the latest and greatest model.

As one of the longest-running nameplates in Australia, the Toyota Corolla was, unsurprisingly, one of the most-searched vehicles on Drive Marketplace in 2025.

With a wide dealer network and plenty of spare parts readily available, the Corolla has become a dependable choice on the new- and used-car markets.

The Isuzu D-Max is one of Australia's best-selling utes, with plenty of new, used and demo examples listed on the classifieds.

On Drive Marketplace, buyers can choose from a range of options, including two-wheel-drive, four-wheel-drive, single-cab and dual-cab.

Australian car buyers' aspiration for a rear-wheel-drive, V8-powered sports car is evident with the Ford Mustang's appearance on this list.

A range of new, demo and used Ford Mustangs are listed on Drive Marketplace, including the previous-generation model, which was a popular choice when new.

The Ford Ranger has been storming up Australia's new-car sales over the last decade, becoming the nation's best-selling vehicle in 2023, 2024 and so far in 2025. 

The ute's popularity is evident, being the fourth-most-searched car on Drive Marketplace in 2025, with a variety of options available across its two most recent generations to suit tradies, families and more.

The Ranger has overtaken the HiLux as Australia's favourite brand-new ute, but the Toyota garnered more searches on Drive Marketplace in 2025.

A range of demonstrator and used examples of the HiLux are available to buy on Drive Marketplace, allowing you to choose a version of the outgoing model suiting your needs, from the WorkMate single-cab-chassis to the range-topping Rogue, Rugged X and GR Sport dual-cab grades.

While the Hyundai i30 hatch and sedan have slipped down the new-car sales charts, they remain top choices for used-car buyers.

If you're looking for an i30 – for example, as your child's first car, or a second family car – but don't want to spend $40,000 on a new i30 Hatch N Line or i30 Sedan, there are many used options listed on Drive Marketplace for less.

The Toyota RAV4 is Australia's best-selling SUV, and it was the most popular car for private buyers in 2024, making it no surprise the hybrid-dominated family car tops this list.

There are many examples of the soon-to-be-replaced, current-generation RAV4 on Drive Marketplace, from its initial 2019 launch to near-new 2025 cars, as well as Nused versions with remaining manufacturer's warranty.
