Toyota Prado snatches Top Three sales position, beats HiLux after new model’s launch

The 2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado has rocketed to the Number Three sales position in its first month on sale in Australia, marking a new monthly sales record for the four-wheel-drive.

With 3590 sales in November, the Prado was only outsold by the Toyota RAV4 – which took the Number One sales gong with 5526 sales – and the Ford Ranger ute in second spot with 4981.

Narrowly missing out on a podium finish by just 18 sales was the HiLux, with 3572 vehicles delivered last month.

November 2024 is also an overall monthly sales record for the Toyota Prado since the model went on sale in Australia in 1996, beating last November's result of 3090 deliveries.

Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels.

Prado 250 Series deliveries in November alone outsold the Prado 150 Series for the first 10 months of the year – with the Prado badge recording a total of 3525 sales between January and October, compared to 3590 sales just for the month of November.

While the Prado convincingly outsold the Ford Everest – which recorded 2737 sales in November – the Toyota won't be able to catch up with the Everest's annual sales before the end of 2024, which year-to-date sits at 24,018 compared to the Prado's 7115.

On its own, in the month of November the Prado also recorded more deliveries than overall sales from GWM, Isuzu Ute, Nissan, Volkswagen, Subaru, Suzuki, BMW, Chery, BYD, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, and LDV – and more.

Besides Toyota – maintaining its Number One overall market position – only Ford, Mazda, Kia, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, and MG brands outsold the Prado last month.
