Hyundai has treated the Ioniq 5 EV to a massive line-up rationalisation, moving from 16 variants to a range of just four models for the 2026 model year.

- Powertrains and driving range unchanged
- Priced from $76,200 plus on-road costs
Hyundai has slashed the number of available variants in the 2026 Ioniq 5 range, just 18 months after rolling out a complex model matrix with 16 available grades.
The updated range now constitutes the entry-level Ioniq 5, mid-spec Ioniq 5 Elite, and up-spec Ioniq 5 N Line Premium.
The new Elite and Premium trims replace the former Dynamiq and Epiq trim levels, and bring naming conventions in line with Hyundai’s other models.
The previous option of N Line styling has been removed, with no N Line package for the Elite, and N Line styling standard on the Premium instead.
Hyundai also no longer offer the base model Ioniq 5 with the option of 63kWh and Extended range 84kWh batteries, instead equipping the entire range with the larger capacity 84kWh battery.
Pricing for the Ioniq 5 starts from $76,200 for the base version with rear-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, and 570km WLTP-rated driving range.
The Ioniq 5 Elite offers rear-wheel drive, but 20-inch wheels, dropping range to 530km. Pricing starts from $81,200.
The Ioniq 5 N Line Premium switched to dual-motor all-wheel drive, with a 495km range rating and pricing from $91,700 – all before on-road costs.
Single motor Ioniq 5s features a 168kW/350Nm motor, the dual-motor N Line Premium uses a 74kW/255Nm front and 165kW/350Nm rear motor setup for a combined 239kW/605Nm output.
With the removal of the Standard Range battery, the less powerful 125kW motor has also been dropped. Hyundai has also removed the option for digital side mirrors.
A full range of features can be found listed at the bottom of this article.
The flagship Ioniq 5 N also continues into the revised range in a single model priced from $115,000 plus on-road costs.
The revised 2026 Ioniq 5 N picks up updates from the 2025 range that skipped the 5N model, including steering wheel haptic feedback, intelligent front lighting system headlights, and auto up/down on all four windows.
The previously optional sunroof is now standard on the Ioniq 5 N.
The 5 N retains the same dual-motor drivetrain as before with a 166kW/350Nm front motor at 282kW/390Nm rear motor for a combined 448kW/740Nm and a boost mode peak of 478kW and 770Nm.
Driving range is short, however, at 448km.
Hyundai has also added its newest Digital Key 2.0 technology to the BlueLink connected services suite.
Via a paired smartphone of smartwatch, Digital Kay 2.0 can utilise the device’s NFC (near-field communication) or UWB (ultra-wideband) functionality to unlock and start the car.
UWB-compatible devices work completely hands-free, while NFC phones require the device to be held to the door handle to unlock.
Digital Key 2.0 can be stored on one device, but users can share access with up to 15 other devices, and can be used on compatible devices even with a flat phone battery. Physical NFC cards are also available as an accessory.
