For 2026, the Ineos Grenadier off-roader has gained a limited-time Black Edition grade, improved steering and air conditioning, and new accessories.
The 2026 Ineos Grenadier four-wheel-drive has gained a limited-run Black Edition grade, along with updates to its steering and air conditioning, and an expanded genuine accessory list.
Priced from $122,000 before on-road costs, the 2026 Ineos Grenadier Black Edition – based on the range-topping Fieldmaster – is available as a station wagon or Quartermaster ute.
Limited to Inky Black exterior paint, the special-edition adds gloss-black 18-inch alloys, a darkened grille and skid plates, privacy glass, and a black lockable spare wheel storage box.
The Black Edition also gains dark headlining and carpet flooring inside, while usually-optional BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres are fitted, replacing the standard-fit Bridgestone all-terrain tyres.
In a media release, Ineos Automotive said "there is no limit to volume" for the Grenadier Black Edition in Australia, but it will have a "limited production window".
For 2026, all Grenadier grades receive a new steering box with a variable ratio, which has been lowered around the central steering position for a "tighter, firmer feel".
The company said the change will improve "high-speed straight-line driving, lane changing and overtaking" and "handling on sweeping A- and B-roads", but the ends of the steering gear remain unchanged to ensure off-road performance.
As a result of the change, the turning circle has been reduced by approximately five per cent to make the Grenadier "more manoeuvrable on- and off-road, and easier to use in town and on tight off-road trails".
Ineos has also updated the Grenadier's air conditioning system for 2026, with new climate control components to improve the heating and cooling "performance and predictability".
New accessories for the 2026 Grenadier include shorter roof racks for examples fitted with safari windows, tonneau covers for the ute, adjustable load bars, bike carriers, cargo boxes, drawer units, light bars, and ski, snowboard and kayak mounts.
A full list of genuine accessories for the Grenadier – which includes factory-approved items supplied by Rhino Rack and Red Winches – can be accessed here, including pricing.
Ineos Automotive Asia Pacific head of region Justin Hocevar said "Australians expect a vehicle that can handle long highway stretches just as confidently as off-road tracks and remote terrain".
"It’s more refined where it counts, without losing the rugged capability that defines the Grenadier," Hocevar added.
In Europe, the 2026 Grenadier has also gained a "one-touch deactivation" for the mandatory intelligent speed limit assist "helping drivers to minimise distractions".
However, this feature is not yet mandatory in Australia, and it not fitted to the Grenadier.
The company also continues to omit autonomous emergency braking (AEB) in Australia due to a lack of "high demand", after it received an exemption when the safety technology was mandated for other 'medium goods' vehicles from February 1, 2025.
"Exemptions [from the ADR 97/00 regulation for AEB] are available based on specific vehicle classification and this includes the Australian-homologated Ineos Grenadier," Ineos Automotive told Drive in February 2025.
"In Australia at present, this category of vehicle does not have a high demand for this technology.
"We continue to carefully review our active customer feedback alongside all government requirements to ensure we provide the most compelling and compliant vehicle."
Australian order books for the 2026 Ineos Grenadier wagon and ute are now open.
