Nissan has updated its top-selling X-Trail family SUV line-up moving pricing for each grade up $1150, but compensating with new features and a fresh look.

All versions now sport an updated exterior design, with the most prominent difference being a revised V-motion front grille, and more rugged lower bumper treatment front and rear.

As standard in the 2026 version of the X-Trail is also Connected Car Services, which allows owners to remotely monitor and track their vehicles via an app that pairs to an in-built sim card for an always-online connection.

ST-L grades and up also receive an updated surround-view monitor with functionality for Skeleton Hood view – or a see-through bonnet.

The facelifted X-Trail also brings in new exterior colour options, though Nissan Australia yet to detail exactly what they will be.

Exact specification across the 2026 X-Trail line-up is still to be announced by Nissan Australia, but all versions will now feature a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that was rolled out earlier this year to ST-L grades and up.

Most features are expected to carryover from last year however, including a comprehensive suite of advanced safety systems on all grades such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition.

Like before, all new X-Trails come with Nissan’s 10-year/300,000km warranty conditional on servicing at an approved outlet.

The 2026 X-Trail range has been reduced to nine variants as Nissan does not list the N-Trek in next year’s model line-up, possibly leaving the door open for the toughened-up Rock Creek grade seen in Japan.

With the price rise, the 2026 Nissan X-Trail now kicks off at $38,140 before on-road costs for the base front-drive ST five-seater, and moving up to $42,615 for the ST-L.

Like before, all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions of the ST and ST-L feature a third row of seating, now priced at $41,140 and $45,715 respectively.

The Ti and Ti-L AWD variants are five-seat only and priced at $51,415 and $54,415 each.

All aforementioned X-Trail grades are powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine, which made 135kW/245Nm in last year’s model paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Nissan’s e-Power hybrid engine will also be available in 2026 in ST-L, Ti, and Ti-L trim positioned at $48,915, $54,415, and $58,215 respectively.

Last year’s e-Power engines paired a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors for a combined 157kW output.

Nissan Australia is yet to confirm powertrain specifications for the 2026 X-Trail, but the model is due to arrive in local showrooms in the first quarter (January – March) of next year.
