BYD has added a limited-time cashback offer on its Sealion 7 electric medium SUV.

BYD has announced a $4000 cashback offer on the 2025 BYD Sealion 7 Premium electric vehicle.
The offer is only available for a very limited time, and applies to any vehicle ordered between December 1 and December 14, 2025 and delivered before December 31, 2025.
BYD offers the Sealion 7 in both Premium and Performance grades, but the cashback offer applies only to the entry-level Sealion 7 Premium.
While end-of-year offers and clearances aren’t unusual across the automotive industry, BYD is currently only offering cashback on this one model in its range.
Regular pricing for the BYD Sealion 7 starts at $54,990 plus on-road costs.
With the cashback offer applied, that effectively lowers pricing to $50,990, but as a cashback offer, stamp duty will be applied to the full retail price and the cashback offer does not reduce the retail price.
As with brands like Honda and Mercedes-Benz, BYD operates with fixed pricing in Australia, meaning the asking price is usually non-negotiable, making offers like this the only way into discounted pricing on new (non-demonstrator) stock.
Along with the timing limitations, BYD also excludes demonstrator vehicles, fleet, government, or rental purchases from the cashback promotion.
To the end of October 2025, BYD has sold 9824 Sealion 7s, putting it ahead of the similarly-sized plug-in hybrid Sealion 6 (7453), and electric rivals like the Deepal S07 (217 units), Geely EX5 (3358), and Leapmotor C10 (509).
The Sealion 7 Premium is powered by a 230kW/380Nm single motor driving the rear wheels.
Driving range is rated at 482km according to WLTP standards, and the Sealion 7 comes with an 82.6kWh lithium-ion-phosphate battery.
