Geely Australia has rolled out a new deal to support its EX5 electric SUV running until the end of financial year (EOFY), which makes it even more affordable for consumers.

The EX5 is already the cheapest mid-size electric SUV in Australia, priced from $40,990 before on-road costs, but with the latest ‘Green Light’ offering, buyers can take another $2000 off in the form of a trade-in bonus.

The offer also includes a complimentary home charging cable, and the choice of either five-years’ worth of free servicing or a $2000 gift card.

This offer replaces the launch promotion that included a year of free public charging, three years’ servicing, premium paint, and a home charger.

All Geely models sold come with a seven-year/unlimited kilometre vehicle warranty, backed by an eight-year/unlimited kilometre battery warranty.

The Geely EX5 was also awarded a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating from testing earlier in the year.

Since launching last month, Geely has already racked up 1000 orders of the EX5, which if delivered all in the same month, could make it the best-selling non-Tesla electric vehicle (EV) in Australia.

For context, March sales figures put the Model Y (1725 sales) first, followed by the Model 3 (1104) and BYD Sealion 7 (573).

Geely Auto Australia Chief Executive Officer Lei Li said the new EX5 promotion is specifically designed to entice buyers on the fence about moving to an electric car.

“More Australians are considering the switch to electric – not just for sustainability but for lifestyle, technology, and cost-of-ownership reasons,” said Li.

“Our EOFY offer is all about giving buyers the green light to take the leap by first alleviating the hurdle of selling privately, and easing concerns around charging and servicing.”
