The Hyundai Inster electric city hatch will be offered in Standard Range and Extended Range variants in Australia, with mostly identical specifications.

Initial Australian specifications for the 2025 Hyundai Inster electric car have been confirmed.
Hyundai Australia has announced the Inster will be available in two variants – Standard Range and Extended Range – with different battery capacities and wheel sizes.
The Inster is an electric city car similar in length to the Hyundai Getz – one of Australia's most-popular cars in the 2000s – but with a taller, SUV-like body, and it is due in local showrooms in February 2025.
Standard equipment for the Inster Standard Range includes 15-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in satellite navigation.
Other features include the Bluelink connected-car service, over-the-air software updates, a six-speaker audio system, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
In addition, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry for the driver’s door only, push-button start, cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, tinted windows, and roof rails are included in the Standard Range.
The Inster Standard Range has a 42kWh battery and a 71kW/147Nm electric motor sending power to the front wheels, with a heat pump, a battery conditioning system, internal and external vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, regenerative braking, and one-pedal driving.
The Inster Extended Range adds 17-inch alloy wheels – all other specifications are identical – and a larger-capacity 49kWh battery with a 360-kilometre WLTP driving range rating, and a more-powerful 85kW motor.
An optional 'khaki brown and newtro beige' cloth upholstery is exclusive to the Extended Range, in all colours except Sienna Orange and Dusk Blue Matte.
Australian pricing for the Inster Extended Range variant was leaked in mid-November in the terms and conditions of a competition on The Big Trip, a new Channel 7 television show.
It is valued at $42,794 drive-away “based on registration of the vehicle in NSW”, suggesting a circa-$40,000 RRP before on-road costs.
The Inster Standard Range could start closer to $37,000 before on-road costs, or about $40,000 drive-away, based on the difference between other Hyundai electric vehicles with different battery sizes.
The 2025 Hyundai Inster is due in Australian showrooms in February, with additional details – including local pricing and full specifications – to be announced closer to its arrival.
