Expanded safety technology, new in-cabin technology and new off-road oriented Overtrail variant join the range for the flagship Lexus LX SUV.

Lexus has announced upgrades to the 2025 Lexus LX luxury SUV, including an expanded line-up with an off-road-focused Overtrail variant.
The introduction of the LX Overtrail sees equipment like front and rear locking differentials and 18-inch wheels with Toyo Open Country all-terrain tyres added to the LX’s standard low-range transfer case and off-road driving modes.
Visually, the Overtrail can be identified by black accents on the grille, mirror housings, door handles, wheel arch mouldings, bumpers, and window surrounds.
As before, the LX will be offered with petrol and diesel twin-turbocharged V6 engines.
In the case of the LX500d 3.3-litre diesel, power and torque remain at 227kW and 700Nm, while the LX600 6.5-litre petrol is rated at 305kW and 605Nm, as before.
Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission with full-time four-wheel drive and a low-range transfer case. All variants are rated to tow up to 3500kg with a braked trailer.
The 2025 Lexus LX line-up encompasses the entry-level seven-seat Luxury, five- and seven-seat versions of the Sports Luxury, the newly-added Overtrail and ongoing F Sport, both with five seats, and the range-topping Ultra Luxury with individual seating for four.
Lexus has upgraded the autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system of all models with daytime motorcycle detection and day and night bicyclist detection.
AEB intervention when crossing intersections and acceleration suppression at low speeds to reduce the risk of misacceleration.
Safe exit assist and a driver monitoring camera, and an emergency driving stop system have also been implemented across the range.
All grades also feature an upgraded 12.3 fully-digital instrument display, replacing the previous 8.0-inch instrument screen. Wireless Android Auto capability has been added to the infotainment system (wired previously), joining Wireless Apple CarPlay.
The LX Luxury has had equipment adjusted with the addition of soft-close doors and a centre console cooler box under the front armrest.
Lexus bundles option equipment into an Enhancement Pack for the Luxury, bringing 22-inch wheels (up from 20-inch), a sunroof, and a kick sensor for the powered tailgate. Full equipment is listed below.
Both the Sports Luxury and F Sport grades add driver and front passenger massaging seats and four-way adjustable headrests, while new equipment for the LX Ultra Luxury is limited to a front wireless charger in addition to the one already fitted in the rear.
