Zeekr's new-generation medium SUV with fast-charging and air suspension will be cheaper than the Tesla Model Y entry-level model.
The 2025 Zeekr 7X electric medium SUV will start from $57,900 before on-road costs in Australia and will go up to $72,900 for the Performance all-wheel-drive model.
This means the Zeekr 7X – which joins the existing X small SUV and 009 people mover – will undercut the Tesla Model Y by $1000 on its entry-level price.
This will be the first Zeekr for the Australian market that will use 800-volt architecture, which will allow for faster charging speeds and the ability to go from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in as little as 13 minutes, according to the brand's claims.
The 2025 Zeekr 7X range starts with the RWD model, which has enough power, for a claimed 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.0 seconds. This model gets height-adjustable air suspension, heated front seats, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof (with electric sunshade), and interior ambient lighting a standard equipment.
Drive currently doesn't have access to the full pricing and specification details of the 2025 Zeekr 7X SUV, and will publish new details when they become available.
The 7X RWD uses a 75kWh lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery, which uses Zeekr's second-generation 'Golden Brick' technology. This gives a claimed driving range of 480km on the WLTP testing cycle.
Next in line is the 7X RWD long-range, which adopts a larger 100kWh nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) battery, which Zeekr calls 'Qilin' and gives a claimed driving range of 615km (the longest in the line-up).
While it is currently unclear how different the weight and electric motor outputs of the 75kWh RWD and 100kWh Long-Range RWD models are, the latter maintains the same 6.0-second sprint time as the entry-level model.
At the top of the Zeekr 7X range is the Performance AWD, which is priced from $72,900..
This model uses the same 100kWh Qilin battery as the rear-wheel-drive model, but twin electric motors slash the claimed 0-100km/h time to 3.8 seconds.
The 2025 Zeekr 7X mid-sized SUV will come with a seven-year warranty and seven years' worth of roadside assistance in Australia. A 7kW home charger and 240-volt trickle charger is included as standard equipment, and Zeekr is offering a $3,000 bonus to current Zeekr customers to trade into the new 7X model.
