Just two weeks after its launch in Australia, the Skoda Elroq electric SUV already has a new, cheaper variant on the way, which will shift the starting price down to $47,990 before on-road costs.
The Elroq launched in August with two grades – the 85 Select for $54,990 and 130 Years Edition costing $64,990 – but now a more affordable 60 Select version is due in November, price-matching a Kia EV3 entry grade and above a $44,990 BYD Atto 3 Premium.
The 60 Select variant will closely match the identically named grade in the larger Enyaq that is due at the same time, with both using a 63kWh battery paired with a single rear-mounted 150kW/310Nm electric motor.
The Elroq will be rated with a driving range of 395km in European WLTP testing, and can be topped up from 10-80 per cent in a claimed 24 minutes on a 165kW DC fast charger.
The 60 Select variant in the Enyaq features the same mechanical set-up, but is rated with a longer driving range of 410km.
In comparison, the two other Elroq variants feature a more powerful rear motor, offering 210kW/545Nm, and fit a larger 82kWh battery for a driving range rating of 529km.
As standard, the Skoda Elroq 60 Select will be fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels, dusk-sensing LED headlights, LED tail-lights, fabric and leather-look upholstery, a 13-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger with cooling, four USB-C ports, DAB radio, and an eight-speaker sound system.
It will also come with a number of Skoda practicality touches, including mobile phone pockets on the front seatbacks, and an umbrella in the driver’s door.
As per the other Elroq grades, the 60 Select will offer a suite of safety equipment, with seven airbags, as in the 85 Select. The 130 Years Edition adds two more airbags in the second row.
Optional extras include 20-inch Vega wheels for $1000, and the Signature Pack for $6000.
The Signature Pack adds matrix LED headlights, scrolling rear indicators, an augmented-reality head-up display, a 12-speaker Canton premium sound system, 360-degree camera, power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory and massage functions, an electric tailgate, and retractable sunblinds for the rear-side windows.
The 2026 Skoda Elroq 85 Select and 130 Years Edition are available now, while the 60 Select is due to arrive in November this year.
