Ever wanted a wardrobe in the back of your family SUV? The new Toyota RAV4 has you covered.

Forget roof racks, mud flaps and carpet mats as the best new car accessories, the new-generation Toyota RAV4 offers something that we haven’t seen before: a boot-mounted clothes rack.
The ‘Luggage Multi-Panel Bar’ features a metal hanging bar that connects to an ABS plastic mounting panel, designed to fit inside the RAV4’s rear quarter windows.
The panels are designed to be compatible with the universal MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) mounting system, developed by the US Army, allowing for third-party storage and other utilities to be used.
The crossbar, though, is simply designed to be a clothes rack, with the Toyota website noting: “If your clothes get wet during outdoor activities, you can hang them on the bar to prevent them from getting wet and dirty inside the car.”
The rack weighs just 2kg, and at 29,800 yen, costs about AUD$260.
Additionally, RAV4 owners can add a cool LED lamp that looks like an oil cap and fits into the side of the dashboard. The battery-operated lamp has four light modes, three brightness levels and even an emergency function.
While these accessories are shown as part of the Japanese-market RAV4 catalogue, the local accessories lineup for the new Toyota RAV4 will be outlined once the car officially launches.
The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is expected to arrive in dealerships later this month.
