2026 Volvo EX30 EV updated with new interior styling, technology

Volvo has revealed the 2026 EX30, with an updated user experience, two new interior colour choices, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality now unlocked through a software update.

A modified infotainment system will be available to both new and current EX30 owners through an over-the-air software update.

It introduces a redesigned settings and control system which will bring the main functions closer to the user, and allow customisation for important and predictive actions.

The same over-the-air software will unlock vehicle-to-load capability already fitted to the vehicle, allowing energy stored in the battery to turn the EX30 into a generator or power bank, which can be used to run external accessories.

After the software update is installed, owners will need to purchase the separate adapter that allows electrical devices such as bikes, power drills, sound systems and even an air compressor to connect to the car.

The over-the-air update is expected to be available on new and current vehicles from June 2026, alongside the adapter accessory.

Volvo has also launched two additional interior trim choices, 'Harvest' and 'Black'.

The 'Harvest' interior choice "offers a warm light-toned aesthetic inspired by late Scandinavian summer evenings", according to the Volvo press release, and features woven recycled textile upholstery made from PET bottles complimented by black headlining.

The 'Black' interior choice is a deep shade, where Volvo's leather-free interior material Nordico upholstery is paired with the brand's dark flax dashboard accents.

Harvest is due to be added as an option locally on the EX30 for model year 2027 (MY27) onwards, while 'Black' has not yet been confirmed for Australia.
