A hybrid powertrain will be added to the popular Staria people mover, among numerous other detail tweaks from June this year.

Hyundai has confirmed Australian details for the facelifted Staria people mover for Model Year 2027, with a hybrid option and a new flagship seven-seat Lounge grade.
The updated Staria gains mild styling changes and new interior technology for 2027, including a digital key function, updated infotainment software, and new luxury features in top-grade models.
Prices start from $54,300 plus on-road costs for the entry-level 'Staria' in petrol V6 and turbo-diesel forms, up $3800 for the former and $800 for the latter.
There is now a $20,000 gap to the new top-of-the-range Staria Lounge, starting at $73,740 plus on-roads, as the previous Elite and Highlander grades have been discontinued.
The Lounge is a seven-seater, with second-row 'captain's chairs' with power recline functions, heating in the first two rows, and unique styling, including different 18-inch wheels, tweaked front bumper, and chrome door handles.
The Staria Lounge will be available solely with Hyundai's 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, producing 180kW in Staria guise and matched with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
It is now one of two conventional hybrid people movers currently on sale in Australia, alongside the mechanically related Kia Carnival.
The entry-level Staria will continue to be offered with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder producing 130kW/430Nm, or a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 200kW/331Nm.
Both engines are paired with an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, deleting the diesel's all-wheel-drive system for 2027.
Styling updates for MY27 include a new horizontal body-coloured front grille insert and a single-piece LED daytime running light across the width of the front fascia.
Inside, the infotainment screen has been enlarged from 10.25 inches to 12.3 inches, with a new operating system, over-the-air software updates, Bluelink connected-car technology, and a digital key function.
There is a new steering wheel, physical air-conditioning buttons replacing touch controls, and a revised dashboard layout.
Entry-level grades feature Obsidian Black cloth trim, while the Lounge model upgrades to nappa leather in a choice of Obsidian Black, Burgundy or Beige.
Petrol and diesel variants will be offered in an eight-seat configuration, while the top-spec Lounge will be offered in a seven-seat arrangement with captain's chairs in the second row.
The 2027 Hyundai Staria petrol and diesel people movers are due in Australian showrooms in April 2026, ahead of the hybrid's arrival in June.
