BYD will throw in a free home charger with every new-car purchase at this weekend’s Melbourne Motor Show, adding a claimed $999 of value.

However, the home charger, supplied by EV Switch, is currently on sale with 30 per cent off, making the unit price $699.

The 7kW unit includes a three-metre Type 2 charging cable and stand, and will be delivered once the new BYD comes into ownership of the buyer before May 31.

Not all buyers need to attend the Melbourne Motor Show however, with the offer also open to Sydney customers who purchase a BYD vehicle this weekend, April 5-6.
