Up to $186 off each vehicle registration available for the 2025-2026 year to combat increasing cost-of-living issues.
Eligible Victorians will soon be able to apply for a 20 per cent discount on their vehicle registration from June 1, saving up to $186 per vehicle.
Announced over the weekend by the Allan Labor government, the rebate will be open to all light vehicles registered for personal use as a one-off relief from rising cost-of-living pressures, according to the release.
“I’m determined to use government to help Victorians who are under pressure,” Victorian premier Jacinta Allan said in a statement.
“Like cheaper PT [public transport], this won’t fix everything, but it’s immediate action I can take to make a difference.
“We can afford it because it’s one-off cost-of-living help right now, while we are delivering a surplus.”
Individuals can claim up to two vehicles under their name, which would boost the cashback to $372 when paying the maximum $930.70 per year registration cost.
Applications will remain open until July 31.
