Enthusiast car owners in Australia and New Zealand are being invited to submit their vehicle for the chance for it to be reproduced and distributed around the world in Hot Wheels miniature form.
The return of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour competition will offer one car owner the chance to have their car turned into a 1:64 Hot Wheels model for sale globally.
The 2026 Hot Wheels Legends Tour is now open for entry in Australia and New Zealand, and allows "passionate car builders" to submit their vehicles for consideration to become a Hot Wheels model.
It is a global competition, so owners in Australia and New Zealand will go up against enthusiasts from the rest of the world.
Builds will be judged according to three criteria: Authenticity, Creativity, and Garage Spirit.
Authenticity is described as cars that fit the mould of an "iconic Hot Wheels", Creativity focuses on the uniqueness of the build, and Garage Spirit assesses whether the car shows "physical evidence of late nights, early mornings, the grit, the determination, the passion".
Entries are now open, and will see the judges' early picks advance through to the Regional Finals before making their way to the Global Grand Finale in November, going head-to-head with builds from the rest of the world.
The winning car will be reproduced and distributed across the world in 1:64 Hot Wheels die-cast form, and inducted into the 'Hot Wheels Garage of Legends'.
The competition will return to Australasia after two years, with this region winning the 2023 contest with the Mazda MX-5 ‘Chimera’ from New Zealand.
The global judging process will include a "live finale" in Australia or New Zealand, said to be a first. The judging panel and further details are set to be announced soon.
