Lamborghini Diablo damaged after falling off car transporter – report

This is the moment a classic supercar worth around $500,000 suffered significant damage after falling off the back of a transporter.

The Lamborghini Diablo VT, allegedly last sold for $US295,000 ($AU457,950), was damaged after what seems to be the failure of the hydraulic lift of the truck it was being loaded onto at the time.

Following the incident, which reportedly occurred in the town of Boise in Idaho, US, at the weekend, the Diablo was later lifted by crane to try to prevent any further damage, reports Carscoops.

Posting on the forum, user VTECeateR said: “My friend snapped these pictures near Boise Idaho today. Apparently, the driver of the hauler was not too happy about the photos but I'd say that's the least of his problems.”

Commenting on a post created by the Instagram account, a user claiming to be the driver of the truck said the equipment failed suddenly without warning.

According to alleged witnesses, the truck had arrived at a property to deliver a classic Ford Mustang, and the accident occurred as the Diablo was being backed out of the transporter.

The vehicle, a 1994 pre-facelift example swathed in Silver Mist Metallic paint and with a red leather interior, is understood to have previously sold in 2019 for $US295,000.

This Diablo VT features a mid-mounted 5.7-litre V12 engine, with power sent to all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, and had just 13,700 miles (22,048 km) on the clock when last listed by Cats Exotics in the US state of Washington.
