Nissan will bring the next generation of the locally-developed Navara Pro-4X Warrior flagship off-road ute to the Australian market by the end of 2026.

Speaking to Drive at the launch of the new-generation Navara in Canberra, a Nissan representative said the off-road hero to the range is “coming this year”.

A concept version of the next Navara Warrior was revealed last year, with new 17-inch wheels, Yokohama all-terrain tyres, lifted suspension, a bull bar, and red accents.

Development of the vehicle will come from the same company responsible for the D23 Navara Warrior, as well as the Patrol Warrior: Premcar.

Once behind the development of Ford Performance Vehicles in Australia, it conducts the testing, tuning and development of Nissan’s Warrior models at its facility in Melbourne.

Premcar also developed the suspension tune for the broader Nissan Navara range, to differentiate Nissan’s new ute from the donor platform of the Mitsubishi Triton.

The previous-generation D23 Navara Warrior had bespoke springs and dampers, as well as larger all-terrain tyres mounted on Warrior-specific wheels.

There was an increase in wheel track and ground clearance, a winch-compatible steel front bumper, and a GVM upgrade, as well as redesigned bump stops for better off-road performance.

Nissan Patrols and Navaras are up-fitted to Warrior spec in Australia, on Premcar production lines before distribution.

When it arrives, the Navara Warrior will line up against the likes of the Ford Ranger Tremor and Isuzu D-Max Blade, as models with increased off-road capability.
