A transmission solenoid fault could cause the engine's revs to spike spontaneously, according to the recall notice.

Lexus Australia has recalled 589 examples of its 2025-2026 Lexus LX500d and LX600, citing a potential fault with the transmission solenoid and electronics.
The affected vehicles were produced in 2025, and are expected to be a mix of 2025 and 2026 model-year vehicles.
The recall notice, lodged by Lexus Australia, says: "The impacted Lexus LX vehicles are equipped with a 10‑speed automatic transmission that uses linear solenoids to control gear shifts.
"If a solenoid fails under certain conditions, the Transmission ECT-ECU may not communicate the fault to the Engine ECU, causing the transmission to over‑rev in certain gears.
"This can damage the transmission, cause a loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds, and in some cases may cause fluid leaks that make contact with hot exhaust components.
"These conditions may increase the risk of a collision or fire, which could also increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants. "
Vehicle identification number guidance for the 589 vehicles involved in the recall can be found here.
Lexus Australia says the transmission fault does not show any warnings and customers should take their car to the dealership as soon as possible to correct the fault.
Lexus said in a media release: "For all involved vehicles, Lexus dealers will reprogram the Transmission ECT-ECU software, free of charge to owners.
"Reprogramming will take approximately 30 minutes. Depending on the Dealer's work schedule, owners may be required to make the vehicle available for a longer period of time."
Owners should contact their local/preferred Lexus Dealer in the first instance or the Lexus Customer Assistance Centre on 1800 023 009 (Monday-Friday 8:00 am 6:00 pm AEDT), quoting their 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and campaign code 6GG01.
