The Melbourne Motor Show has returned for the first time since 2011 – under new organisers – with more than 20 vehicle manufacturers locked-in for the event.

Held on Saturday April 5, 2025 and Sunday April 6, 2025, the list of manufacturers with a presence at the motor show includes KiaIsuzu UtePorscheTeslaMGGWM, and Subaru.

 What to expect
2025 MG QS.

Headlining the event will be the global debut of the 2025 MG QS seven-seat large SUV, a cut-price rival to the Toyota Kluger, Hyundai Palisade and Mazda CX-80 launching initially in turbo-petrol form with a plug-in hybrid due to follow later.

"MG is excited to unveil the QS in Australia at the Melbourne Motor Show. The QS will provide exceptional value in the seven-seat SUV sector. We look forward to seeing it arrive in dealerships this winter," MG Australia chief operating officer Giles Belcher confirmed to Drive.

A Kia Australia spokesperson said it will be the first time its Tasman ute will be on public display in Melbourne ahead of its July 2025 launch – while it will also be showcasing its EV3 electric small SUV due on sale in March, the mid-size EV5, and another vehicle which is still to be announced.

2025 Kia Tasman.

Meanwhile, an Isuzu Ute Australia spokesperson confirmed the Isuzu D-Max ute and recently-facelifted MU-X off-road SUV will be shown – including the Australian-developed D-Max Blade.

"Taking centre stage, we’ll be showcasing the locally reengineered D-Max Blade, which was developed by Walkinshaw Automotive in Melbourne to be one of the most capable vehicles out-of-the-box. Alongside that will be the best-selling D-Max X-Terrain and the new MU-X X-Terrain," they said.

 What to expect
2025 Tesla Model Y.

The facelifted Tesla Model Y is expected to make its first appearance in Melbourne at the motor show following its recent Australian debut at the Everything Electric show in Sydney, with customer deliveries set to commence in April.

 What to expect
Electric Vehicle for Incident and Emergency (EVIE) truck.

It could debut alongside a left-hand drive example of the Tesla Cybertruck ute – which is under consideration for Australian sale – if its recent showing at the Everything Electric Show is a guide for the unrelated Melbourne event.

Show organisers have confirmed 87 aftermarket exhibitors will be present at the show, which will include Hot Wheels, Lego, Red Bull, Shannons Insurance, VPlates (VicRoads' custom number plates), an electric fire truck from Fire Rescue Victoria, and more.

General admission tickets cost $35 for adults.
