Mercedes-Benz Australia has added an Edition R variant to its AMG GLC43 wagon and coupe in "strictly limited numbers", with savings of up to $10,000 over the standard model.

A "strictly limited" number of Mercedes-AMG GLC43 examples have been announced for Australia with price cuts of up to $10,000 over the standard version.
The limited-edition 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Edition R is now available in Australia from $128,900 before on-road costs, compared to $136,900 for the existing AMG GLC43 wagon.
The Edition R coupe costs $141,600, down from $147,500, for savings of between $7500 and $9600 when including the addition of larger alloy wheels for the special edition.
Mercedes-Benz has deleted some features from the AMG GLC43 for the Edition R, including 'digital' LED headlights with Adaptive High Beam Plus, an augmented-reality (AR) function for its satellite navigation, and a nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel.
However, the brand has added the AMG Dynamic Plus package with dynamic engine mounts and a Race drive mode, and the AMG Performance Seat Advanced package with black 'Artico' leather-accented and 'Microcut' microfibre upholstery, which are unavailable in the standard model.
It also receives 21-inch matte black Y-spoke alloy wheels as standard – usually a $1600 option – red-coloured seatbelts and brake calipers, a leather and Alcantara AMG Performance steering wheel, and a metal-structure finish trim for its centre console and dashboard.
The Edition R is fitted with the AMG Night Package II, adding a darkened chrome grille and exterior badging over the AMG Night Package I fitted to the standard version.
It follows the limited-run Mercedes-AMG C43 Edition R launched in Australia in mid-2024 with similar changes over the standard C43 – but with a larger $28,000 price cut.
The all-wheel-drive AMG GLC43 Edition R retains a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine matched to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, with 310kW and 500Nm, replacing the twin-turbocharged V6 available in the outgoing model.
A 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.8 seconds is claimed, with its mild-hybrid system able to deliver an additional 10kW/150Nm for short acceleration bursts.
All other standard equipment is shared with the standard GLC43, including an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wired or wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, a Burmester 3D surround-sound audio system, and a wireless phone charger.
The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Edition R wagon and coupe are available to order now.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has not confirmed how many AMG GLC43 Edition Rs it plans to offer to customers.
