Mercedes-Benz Australia has introduced new, limited-run Night Edition variants of its most affordable electric cars, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQA and EQB SUVs, at no additional cost over the standard versions.
The Night Edition grades add the darkened Night Package to the entry-level EQA250+ and EQB250+ for the first time, with front and rear bumper inserts, body side trim, window trim, roof rails and mirror caps in high-gloss black.
Also added are 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels with a silver rim, replacing a different 20-inch wheel design with silver and black spokes.
Prices of the Night Editions are unchanged from the standard models, listed at $85,800 plus on-road costs for the five-seat EQA250+ and $90,000 plus on-road costs for the stretched, boxier EQB250+ with seven seats.
Mercedes-Benz Australia points out both cars are priced below the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold for fuel-efficieny vehicles of $91,387, unlocking Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemptions when purchased through a novated lease.
Both models are powered by a 140kW/385Nm front-mounted electric motor and 70.5kWh battery pack, rated to enable driving range in NEDC testing – which is less stringent than the more common WLTP protocol – of 578km for the EQA, and 564km for the EQB.
Standard equipment shared with the regular versions of each car include dual 10.25-inch interior displays, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, ambient lighting, augmented-reality satellite navigation, and digital radio.
There are power-adjustable heated 'sports-style' seats with memory settings, Artico leather-look and Microcut microfibre upholstery, a nappa leather steering wheel, and the AMG Line exterior styling pack.
Also standard is a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry and start, adaptive dampers, adaptive LED headlights, and metallic paint.
Standard advanced safety features include autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, a side exit warning, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Order books for the Mercedes-Benz EQA250+ and EQB250+ Night Edition open today, 23 January 2025, in "strictly limited numbers".
Mercedes-Benz says Cosmos Black metallic will be offered on the EQA "exclusively ... online for one month following this date."
