Mini's new-generation Cooper JCW hatchback has dropped pricing, but the all-electric version with more go is expected later next year.
The 2025 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works (JCW) hot hatch is now more affordable than before with the introduction of the new-generation model due in the second quarter (April to June) of 2025.
Priced at $57,990 before on-road costs for the entry-level Classic grade, the most affordable JCW three-door hatchback is now $1260 cheaper than before.
Buyers can also opt for the Favoured grade, positioned at $60,990.
All versions of the 2025 Mini Cooper JCW are powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine outputting 170kW/380Nm to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The result is a zero to 100km/h sprint time of 6.1 seconds.
However, there is an all-electric version of the new Cooper JCW, which features a 190kW/350Nm electric motor on the front axle to cut the 0-100km/h sprint time down to 5.9s.
It is still unclear when the Mini JCW Electric is coming to Australia.
Standard features on the petrol-powered version include 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, front sports seats, front seat heating, up-rated JCW brakes, variant-specific interior styling, heated steering wheel, a head-up display, keyless entry, push-button start, a glass roof, and a 9.4-inch OLED infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In terms of safety, there is adaptive cruise control, a surround-view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, lane-centring assist, and automatic speed limit assist.
Stepping up to the Favoured trim nets buyers performance tyres, a driver’s seat with active bolstering, and electronic seat adjustment with memory.
The Convertible version, also available in Classic and Favoured trim with the same engine and specification, is positioned $7000 above the three-door hatch.
