MG Australia has brought back a less potent version of its ZS small SUV three months after its axing, accompanied by lower pricing for a limited time to make the range more accessible than before.

The 2026 MG ZS Vibe, powered by a 1.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, is now available from $22,990 drive-away – $1000 less than where the variant was positioned last year.

However, that price is billed by MG as a “celebration offer” that ends on 28 February 2026, when the model will revert to its $21,990 before on-road costs list price.

For now, the ZS Vibe is more affordable than rivals such as the Chery Tiggo 4 (from $23,990 drive-away) and GAC Emzoom (from $25,590 before on-road costs).

The promotional offer for the resurrected ZS Vibe undercuts current pricing for the Vibe Turbo variant by $2000, but power and torque also drop from 125kW/275Nm to 81kW/140Nm.

The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine is paired with a continuously-variable transmission (CVT) that sends drive to the front wheels, which – in its previous iteration – returned a claimed combined fuel consumption figure of 6.7 litres per 100 kilometres.

Equipment in the 2026 MG ZS Vibe mirrors last year’s counterpart, with highlights including 16-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, push-button start, and a four-speaker sound system.

The MG Pilot suite of active safety features is also standard, which includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, a driver monitoring system, and rear cross-traffic alert.

All Model Year 2026 (MY26) ZS models have been awarded a five-star ANCAP safety rating due to the addition of a front-centre airbag added from vehicles built from December 4, 2025.

Previous versions carry a four-star rating.

All new MG models also come with a 10-year/250,000km conditional warranty when servicing through an approved outlet. Maintain the vehicle outside the MG network, and coverage changes to seven years/unlimited kilometres.
