The Chinese car maker is replacing its previous three-variant SUV line-up in favour of two new Special Editions, cutting the point of entry by $10,000.
Chery Australia has replaced the Urban, Elite and Ultimate variants of its 2025 Tiggo 7 Pro SUV with two new Special Edition trims.
The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Special Edition (SE) and Special Edition+ (SE+) are currently priced at $29,990 drive-away and $33,990, respectively, and are available for purchase at local Chery dealers now.
As a reference, the price of the new Tiggo 7 Pro SE is $10,000 cheaper than the entry-level Urban ($39,990) variant, while the SE+ sticker tag is substantially more affordable than the outgoing mid-tier Elite ($41,990) and top-spec Ultimate ($45,990).
However, specification for the 2025 Tiggo 7 Pro line-up has also changed to reflect the new prices.
The base Special Edition carries over the 18-inch alloy wheels, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, power-adjustable driver's seat, and eight-speaker Sony sound system from last year's Urban.
However, it loses the sunroof, heated fronts seats, interior ambient lighting, and wireless smartphone charger – somewhat justifying the price drop.
These features are now available only in the SE+, in addition to a surround-view monitor, power tailgate, power-folding side mirrors, cargo blind, and an air quality management system.
The 2025 Tiggo 7 Pro SE line is powered by a familiar 1.6 turbo-petrol engine that sends 137kW/275Nm to its front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Chery claims the SUV has a fuel consumption of 7.0L/100km.
While Chery launched a facelifted Tiggo 7 Pro in its native Chinese market last year, a spokesperson for its local division said Australian timing is still unclear for the new model.
“We are always interested in exploring the exciting Chery product range. Currently, there is no confirmed timing for this vehicle for the Australian market,” a Chery Australia spokesperson told Drive.
The 2025 Tiggo 7 Pro SE lineup has a five-star ANCAP safety rating and is backed by the car maker's seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, as well as seven-year capped price servicing and roadside assistance.
Of note, the SUV's drive-away pricing extends to private buyers who purchase and take delivery of a new vehicle between February 1 and March 31 2025.
