Ford Australia has recalled 24,476 examples of the Mustang, citing a potential fault with the reversing camera maybe not displaying the rear-view image as intended.
The affected vehicles are stamped 2015 to 2018 models, but may have been sold at a later date.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: If the rear-view camera does not operate as intended while reversing the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to persons located behind the vehicle.

Ford advises that the indicator warning lamp (if the rear-view camera is unavailable) will illuminate in the instrument cluster.
Owners of these affected vehicles will be contacted in writing requesting they contact an Authorised Ford Dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge.
