GWM customers – both private and ABN holders – can take advantage of discounts up to $6000 depending on model until the end of this month.
GWM has extended promotional drive-away discounts of up to $6000 into the New Year – and to all but one model in its range – after reporting record sales in 2024.
According to the car maker’s website, the discounted drive-away pricing is available to private buyers and those purchasing under an ABN, and applies to vehicles purchased and delivered by 31 January 2025 – or while stocks last.
Many of the offers were rolled out last year, but they have been extended from the previous expiry of 31 December 2024.
A GWM spokesperson could not confirm how many examples of each model are available, but said there is “ample coverage across the network of all vehicles.”
The discount extends to the GWM Cannon dual-cab ute – ahead of an updated model due by March 2025 – with the range receiving a $1000 to $6000 discount depending on the variant.
Savings of $1000 are available on the entry-level Premium model, now priced from $35,490 drive-away with a tub, and $36,990 drive-away as a cab-chassis.
The Cannon Lux and Vanta are down $2000 to $37,490 and $41,490 drive-away for private buyers, respectively. The range-topping Cannon XSR receives a $6000 discount to $46,990 drive-away.
As previously reported by Drive, the updated GWM Cannon ute due in the coming weeks will receive a styling update, alongside a new 2.4-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine found in its Cannon Alpha sibling.
The new engine produces 135kW/480Nm – up from the current model's 120kW/200Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel – coinciding with an increase in the braked towing capacity from 3200kg to 3500kg.
Savings can be seen on the Cannon Alpha dual-cab ute, with GWM reducing prices on the entry-level Lux diesel by up to $2000, making it available from $49,990 drive-away.
The top-of-the-range Ultra Hybrid is on sale for $59,990, a $5000 discount when compared to its regular $64,990 price.
A software update for the GWM Cannon Alpha and its Tank 500 4WD sibling is coming to address criticisms of the vehicles' safety technology, with newly-produced models running with the latest firmware due in Australia in January 2025 pending any delays.
It is not due to become available until closer to the middle of 2025 for existing cars, and owners will need to schedule an appointment with a GWM dealer to have the new software flashed to their vehicle once it's available.
Pricing for the Haval Jolion now starts from $23,990 drive-away – a $3000 reduction from its regular $26,990 price tag – for the entry-level Premium petrol and extends to the top-trim Haval Jolion Ultra Hybrid, which starts from $37,990.
The Haval H6 sees its drive-away price reduced by up to $5000, with the range-topping Haval H6 Ultra Hybrid now available from $40,990 – down from $45,990 – and the entry-level Haval H6 Premium down $3000 to $30,990 drive-away.
These models – the Haval Jolion and Haval H6 – accounted for approximately 62 per cent of GWM's sales in 2024, recording 14,238 and 12,416 sales respectively.
In January 2025, the Chinese car maker announced it will offer a $2000 introductory discount on the Haval H6 GT PHEV, with the SUV priced from $53,990 drive-away – as opposed to the original $55,990 sticker – for contracts signed by 31 March 2025.
The Tank 300 Lux petrol SUV is currently on sale for $45,990 drive-away – down $2000 from the regular $47,990 drive-away price – while the Tank 300 Lux Hybrid and Ultra Hybrid are currently priced at $50,990 and $55,990, respectively.
Similarly, the Tank 500 Lux Hybrid SUV is down $2000, now available for $64,490 drive-away for private buyers.
