This striking photograph of Lewis Hamilton has quickly become the most liked Instagram post in Formula One history.

The photo that sent the internet into a frenzy features the seven-time World Champion standing outside the iconic Enzo Ferrari house, alongside another legend – the Ferrari F40.

The photograph was originally shared by Lewis Hamilton in collaboration with the Scuderia Ferrari Instagram page, with its combined follower count totalling 56.1 million. The post currently boasts more than 55,000 comments, along with 5.2 million likes, and climbing.

In the caption, Hamilton expresses his gratitude for the moment, stating: “There are some days you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days.”

“Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together.”

Many have speculated about the symbolic meaning of this photo. The seven windows are thought to represent Hamilton’s seven championships, while the door is seen as a symbol of the opportunity for an eighth.

The outfit has also generated considerable buzz on social media, with Hamilton sporting a white shirt from Ferrari’s own fashion line, Ferrari Style, while the hint of red on his wrist is a brand-new RM67-02 ‘Italy’ edition watch, with Richard Mille partnering with both Ferrari and McLaren.

Since this picture went live, Hamilton has shared a series of posts from his visit, including a shot of him in his Ferrari suit, captioned, “FIRST TIME IN RED,” as well as a photo of his yellow helmet.

Lewis Hamilton’s debut with the prestigious Italian team was eagerly awaited, not only by the team but also by the fans, known as Tifosi, who showed up in their thousands.

According to Autosport, Hamilton’s arrival led to hotels in the nearby Sassuolo area being fully booked, while Maranello’s mayor called for enhanced security at the Ferrari factory and race circuit.

The second most-liked photo in F1 also comes from the Ferrari camp, and is that of Charles Leclerc taking a selfie with the 'tifosi' (fans) at Monza before securing victory. The post currently has 46 million likes and more than 60,000 comments.
