Yet another Mazda concept car will debut at the Tokyo motor show, with a four-door 'Vision' coupe due to appear at this year's edition of the event later this month.

Mazda has confirmed it will unveil the concept on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 – alongside the public debut of the third-generation CX-5 family SUV.

A teaser image shared by the brand reveals a sleek four-door silhouette with frameless windows and a sloped roofline.

The Vision name suggests the concept car will be an evolution of other similarly named display cars from Mazda, including the Vision Coupe concept and the RX-Vision concept.

The Mazda Vision Coupe concept debuted at the 2017 Tokyo motor show, along with the Mazda 3-previewing Kai concept, while the RX-Vision concept was shown at the 2015 edition of the show.

More recently, Mazda unveiled its rotary-engined Iconic SP concept sports car at the 2023 show, likely previewing the next-generation MX-5 rather than a reborn RX model.

However, it is unclear whether the new concept previews a future production model, such as a new Mazda 3 sedan or a potentially rotary-engined hybrid sports car, amid rumours the RX-7 could be reborn.

Automotive News reports the Mazda 3 hatch and sedan are not due to be redesigned until at least 2032, making it unlikely that the Vision concept previews its next-generation small car, despite the current model approaching its seventh birthday.

"Mazda will hold a world premiere of its latest creation, representing the vision for future Mazda vehicles that symbolises the company’s theme for the exhibition," the brand said in a media release.

"[The] vision model… embodies the future of driving pleasure in every aspect."

More details on the Mazda Vision concept car will be shared when it is unveiled later this month.
