The 2025 Nissan Patrol Y63 has been detailed for the United States – where it’s called the Armada – with the same starting price as the outgoing Y62 model.

In the United States, the Armada Y63 starts from $US58,530 ($AU89,500) for the most-affordable rear-wheel-drive model and rises to $US75,750 ($AU116,000) and $US82,000 ($AU125,000) for the new Pro-4X and Platinum Reserve grades, respectively.

Revealed in September 2024, the new Patrol has already launched in the Middle East and will arrive in US dealerships in December – but Australians will have to wait until late 2026 for the Nissan SUV to launch when right-hand drive production commences for our market.

It remains to be seen if Nissan Australia will follow its US counterpart in remaining close to the retail prices of the Y62 model, which starts from $88,900 before on-road costs for the four-wheel-drive Ti and extends to $105,160 for the Premcar-modified Warrior – pending any future price changes to the current vehicle – when it launches the Y63.

The Patrol’s closest rival, the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series, is available in Australia from $96,991 for the fleet-friendly GX to $145,791 for the top-of-the-line Sahara ZX.

Standard equipment in the entry-level Nissan Armada SV includes 18-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat and four-way power passenger seat, a six-speaker audio system, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a wireless phone charger, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, tri-zone climate control, and a full suite of active safety features.

The SL adds 20-inch wheels, a 12-speaker Klipsch audio system, a 360-degree camera, Google Built-In technology, heated front seats and a power-folding third-row, while the Platinum upgrades to quilted leather seats, ventilated front seats, a hands-free power tailgate, and panoramic sunroof.

The Platinum features a larger 28.6-inch widescreen display, split between a 14.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 14.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

If Nissan Australia decides to follow the same range hierarchy as the current Patrol Ti and Ti-L, it is possible the Y63 would have similar standard equipment to the Armada SL and Platinum variants.

New-for-2025 is the Armada Pro-4X trim, which could act as a potential successor to the current Patrol Warrior in Australia – potentially with further enhancements by Premcar at its Melbourne facility if the current arrangement continues with the new model.

The off-road-enhanced variant adds all-terrain tyres, an increased approach angle, underbody skid plates, red Nissan badges, 20-inch black-painted alloy wheels, and a black interior finish with red accents compared to standard models.

It is fitted with an air suspension system to increase ride height by 70 millimetres when rock-climbing, or lower the vehicle by 140mm for easier ingress/egress and better fuel efficiency on freeways.

Meanwhile, the flagship Platinum Reserve sports 22-inch wheels, massaging front seats, more USB-C charge ports, and a front-centre airbag – with the latter feature likely to be standard in Australia.

US-market versions of the Y63 Patrol retain the same 335kW/700Nm tune from its new 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 as its luxury Infiniti QX80 sibling, while Middle Eastern models are slightly down on power at 317kW/700Nm.

The Y63 Nissan Patrol is due in Australia in late 2026.

Nissan Australia communications boss Emily Fadeyev told media at the model’s reveal in September 2024 the local market “is the priority right-hand-drive market”.

“Right-hand drive production will follow left-hand drive, as soon as it’s available in right-hand drive we will launch it in Australia,” she said.
