Enter the Brabus Big Boy 1200, a 12-meter long, state-of-the-art luxurious studio apartment on wheels that can be yours for the same price as two three-bedroom houses.
When the four powered slide-out extensions are deployed (to offer interior width up to 4.5m), the Big Boy offers up to 30 square meters (320 sq ft) of living space, or about the same as a studio apartment.
Built in collaboration with Belgian motorhome constructor STX Motorhomes, the finishes in the Big Boy are more like you would find in a home rather than a car, with extensive use of leather, marble and carbon-fibre throughout.
Inside, there’s a kitchen and dining room with fridge, freezer stove and cooktop, stone-tiled bathroom with shower and master bedroom that includes a widescreen TV, and plenty of storage. When not eating or sleeping, you can relax in the lounge with another TV and premium sound-system, or enjoy a drink from the wine chiller or integrated coffee machine.
The all-black exterior includes LED lighting, powered retractable access stairs, carbon fibre trim and a Starlink communications antenna, as well as powered skylights to enjoy some fresh air wherever you park the big RV up.
To keep you on the grid, while you are off the grid, there are eight solar panels that can capture energy to store in the RV’s on-board battery. Plus, if you choose to relax in, rather than pilot your own Big Boy, your driver has their own sleeping compartment above the cab.
How much for all this freedom? The Brabus Big Boy 1200 starts from €1,260,504 ($AU2.05m), which is more than double the average Australian house price ($960k). You can commission one to your exacting specification though, with the Actros supported by Mercedes-Benz Trucks Australia with a 800,000km driveline warranty, enough to drive around Australia 55 times.
