It won't replace the Bentayga, but an SUV will be the first fully-electric car from Bentley.
Electric Cars
Bentley’s first fully electric vehicle – which is slated to be revealed at the end of 2026 – will be an ‘urban SUV’ that is less than five metres long.
This new model - with only the above profile illustration as a hint to its shape – will be the first of an increasing range of electric vehicles for the British luxury brand, which has pledged to go all-electric by 2035.
It is understood that Bentley’s first electric car won’t be named Bentayga, nor will it replace the current Bentayga SUV. Instead, it will be a new standalone model within the lineup.
Being less than five metres long means this new model will be shorter than the current Bentayga (pictured above), which is either 5125mm or 5,305mm for the long-wheelbase EWB model.
Despite using an old platform that dates back to 2015, the Bentayga SUV remains Bentley’s most popular model both in Australia and worldwide.
Since dropping the 6.0-litre turbocharged W12 engine in 2024, Bentley now uses a V8 hybrid powertrain for the Flying Spur sedan and Continental GT coupe, along with a hybrid V6 and non-hybrid V8 in the Bentayga.
From 2027, Bentley has pledged to release a new hybrid or electric model every year until 2035.
